Re: Can I Replace Command-Trac w/Selec-Trac?
Bill,
Are you working from the notion that the command trac transfer case is
stronger for off road use than the selectrac transfer case? I've heard that
mentioned in this group in the past.
But, I'll trade you my np231 for your np242 straight across!

Re: Can I Replace Command-Trac w/Selec-Trac?
In my rig, combination is 2H, 4PT, 4FT, N, 4L. So which one is better for
''all around'' use, 231 or 242?
Thanks.

Re: Can I Replace Command-Trac w/Selec-Trac?
And few questions more please, so seems like I have Selec-Trac 242, what is
difference between ''4 part time'' and ''4 lo''? I usually use 4 full time
and I didn't try to use 4 lo just because I'm afraid to break something. I
don't live in USA (unfortunatelly) and if something is broken than... better
not to think about it. But anyway, my Jeep has never needed something more
than ''4 full time'' to get out of some ''bad '' places. And of course, I
think I still must stop the vehicle completely to shift in between 2 and 4
WD? Please people, I'll appreciate all advices from you, especially from two
guys I see all the time here on this news group: Mr L.W. (Bill) ------ and
Mr. Mike Romain. Would be nice to meet you one day. Thank you very much.
