Alcohol burns nicely in a diesel cycle, as any model airplane hobbyist
would be aware of as they do the inevitable castor oil two step.
Alcohol and nitromethane burn even better just before your engine melts.

Not before my time, I had dozens of Jaguars with twin tanks come through
with their chrome quick release caps, the same as my Norton 750 Commando (a
foolish move form a Hog).
I didn't understand your statement though, burn what evidence?
