Re: 97 jeep grand cherokee abs issue
That sounds like a screamin deal to me! Do you know how to test the
sucker after you get it all replaced? I prefer the "pine needles and
pavement" test myself.
Caution! Start out slow and keep increasing speed incrementaly until
you find the limits of your "comfort zone".
Find a deserted road with the sides covered in pine needles. Run
along with one side of the Jeep on the dry pavement and the other on
the needles and do a HARD panic stop. If all goes well, the ABS will
pulse like mad and the needle side will not lock up until you almost
stop. After I do this, I reverse sides on the pavement and make the
other one work.
I even do this every couple of months, just to keep the system
loosened up and make sure it continues to work. My old 95 Cherokee
has 4-wheel ABS and with 240,000 miles has never flickered!
