94 cherokee limited security question

Re: 94 cherokee limited security question
its the stock system. I don't have the FOB since I got it used. I'm in the
process of getting one. I know it shuts off from the door lock, but it
sucks when I unlock the door, hop in, turn the key then the thing dies
because teh system didn't disarm.
Update, just popped a new battery in there, the old one was fine in terms of
voltage, but was old and very corroded. Its possible that the corrosion was
interrupting the flow and the system was detecting a disconnected battery.
I cleaned up the terminals and will see how it does.

Time to clean the disarm switch. Bit of a pain though, it's on the back of the
key core and requires a bit of work to get to.

basically you have to take the door panel off. Watch the plastic edges
they are sharp. Usually the trees (plastic pins) will be reusable.
The switch, as you suspect, is on the end of the lock barrel.
On my ZJ it's easier to get the panel off if the window is all the
way down.
