basically you have to take the door panel off. Watch the plastic edges
they are sharp. Usually the trees (plastic pins) will be reusable.
The switch, as you suspect, is on the end of the lock barrel.
On my ZJ it's easier to get the panel off if the window is all the
way down.

Well I swapped the new battery in this past weekend and have not had any
problems since, its only been a few days, but I think that was the problem.

A low battery can cause the alarm to false as can corroded terminals.
