In this case he meant you were fishing for arguments or foolishness or
'Trolling'.
Some folks do that for some kind of kick or on purpose to make one
person look foolish. You will see 'hook, line and sinker' used too....
;-)
Trolls don't normally come back to ask about it if they get caught out
either.
I personally think you should have come here first before getting it
fixed. There are lots of good mechanics on this group and maybe a cheap
easy fix or two could have kept you going.
Especially folks would have mentioned if you have the engine out, change
the clutch while it's open and 'most' oil leaks in the engines are just
the valve cover....
Your story is almost just too bad to be believed. You were taken to the
cleaners....

Re: 86 jeep cherokee laredo
Hi Mike,
I will come here before I go to any repair shop, from now on. I stuck
with this guy because believe it or not, everyone says he does great work
(checker auto, the guys at jiffy lube send him repairs they can't do) and
my sister told me that I am not a mechanic, and shouldn't question such an
able mechanic. He has always done well for her. After reading these posts
I do think I deserve a refund of some
kind- but first I will go back to the owner and see if we can come to
some agreement. In my own business, I do and have made mistakes. I was
grateful to have the opportunity to correct them. Maybe the shop owner
will feel the same way.
