Default Airbags/Horn

OK guys, here's an easy one.

04 TJ, when I push in the horn it feels like a gap between the cover (the thing that has horn/airbags indented in it) and the surface that you push to honk the horn underneath. Does anyone else have this play or space between the two?
As it's a second hand vehicle, my concern is lack of airbags.

Is there anyway to check to see if they're there?

Thanks.

When you turn the key to the on or run position, does the airbag light turn on for few seconds then turn off?

Yah, it turns on and stays on for a few seconds then goes away.

Then your airbag is in place. If the airbag was removed the light would always be on or always off if the bulb was pulled out.

Relief!

Why is there such a space between the cover and the horn then I wonder.
In any case, thanks. That makes perfect sense.

I hadn't really noticed it but I checked my 03 and the horn is exactly as you described. Guess that's just the way they made them. Nothing to worry about.
