Would this be safe?
Just as a temporary thing I was toying with the idea of putting some
fiberglass insulation in my glasspack mufflers to help deaden the
sound a little... Would that be safe? Isn't there already fiberglass
packing in the very small surrounding chamber on these mufflers? I'd
be worried that the heat from the exhuast might actually catch the
fiberglass on fire. Could that happen? I know this isn't an ideal or
permanent solution but it would be nice to just quieten these
glasspacks down just a little bit before I pick up some turbo
mufflers. Thank you.

Fiberglass insulation is real fine and would most likely melt from
the heat. Turn up the sterio a bit. :)

Do you have tail pipes behind those glass packs?

Re: Would this be safe?
Nevermind, I read somewhere else that you do not have tail pipes. If you get
new mufflers ans still have no tail pipes, you won't be happy. You need tail
pipes so the mufflers will not be so noisy.
I run a header with a MagnaFlow muffler and a tail pipe that goes over the
axle and out the back, and the sound is very nice. Before the tail pipe
went on, it was way too loud. You might object to the noise with the glass
packs and tail pipes, but getting a good muffler and still no tail pipes
won't be much of an improvement.
