Tranny mount done :)

Well, the front motor mounts were done and that
brought the supercharger into close contact with
the ABS system.. causing some interesting results
in reverse. :(

Checked the tranny mount and it was shot.
(go figure)

Wasn't too hard. The book says just to jack
up the tranny then pull the lower plate. It's
easier to drop the crossmember. Not only does it
give better access it's easier on the tranny than
jacking it up. (still have to move it a bit but it's
less stress on the pan)

That and some gorilla on crack must have torqued
down that last mount. The freeking bolt only goes
to 34 ft.lbs but it took a 4' cheater and one hell
of a grunt to break it free. Actually twisted up
my cheap ass korean 1/2-3/8 adapter. Gonna get one
from Snap-On. Saved enough on the labor and parts.

Dealer wanted 300 for the motor mounts and 190 for
the tranny. sheesh.

Now I can justify new tools.. :D

And aspirin.

.....lots of aspirin.

Should have typed that better. It was $190 for labor and $60
for the part. Had to swallow the $60+tax since (stupid me) didn't
order it with the other parts. Normally I would have got it from
these folks http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/ for $44 and shipping.

I wrench sober. Like my beer, but history proves several cans
and vehicle maintenance don't mix well. In this case I had to
brace against the jeep to keep from dragging myself in circles.
When it broke loose I darn near ate the wrench. Beer reaction time
would have equaled a nice welt on mah noggin. :)

Should have a website writeup on the process soonish. Other things
are keeping me busy now.. (like attic insulation) yay.. cough.. yay..

sounds good :) Thanks, I'll wait for the writeup... our 'newer' has has a
finished attic, so no more need of replacing/installing for insulation... I
wear it well......... ;0
