Well, you may want to know...
My sweetie, is a retired heavy equipment mechanic.... diesel is what he
knows.
Around here, we don't screw up our diesel engines by doing stupid stuff
*grin*
Oh, and note, I said "filters" not 'oil filters'
We wore the last one out at 275k miles, it was tired then and had been
worked hard.
An 88 F250 that was bought new and ran great until we sold it in 04. Even
then it ran great but was beginning to lose a little power and show it was
getting tired.

Well for ordinary people your truck would lasted about as long an
'80 Chevy diesel. Oh, and I still have my gasoline Bronco at over three
hundred and fifty miles and the heads have never been off:
http://www.----------.com/smog.jpg which is of course a lot older than
your pickup. Some how I have this feeling your husband would not have
allowed to buy the diesel Libby, reason would have ruled out.

LOL Bill, he did say "Honey, you don't want that one....."
He was right, I didn't. Personally, I am a gas guzzlin gal m'salf.
Diesels are good work horses, but I prefer gas.
