Really? I was a tech at Robert's VW 75-79. It was in an old gas station. We sold diesel only at the pumps, plenty of Benzes and Peugots around La Jolla back then. The others I named were the nearest competitors. We probably pumped about 100-150 gallons per day back then. You could research it and ask the former owner, Bill Clum, he lives near you in Temecula -- Stupendous Man, Defender of Freedom, Advocate of Liberty |

The only open gas station in La Jolla during that time, was a
Chevron on the corner of Torrey Pines Road and La Jolla Shores Drive. God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ Stupendous Man wrote: > > Really? The building on the corner of La Jolla Blvd and Midway St was once a Phillips 66, and it sold gas up to 73 when Robert moved in. It was in the mid-80s when they moved to Mission Bay Drive and the pumps were shut down. Place a wager worth my time, and I will get county records to prove it. You really shouldn't accuse someone of lying to cover your ignorance. It's rude, offensive, and makes you look foolish. -- Stupendous Man, Defender of Freedom, Advocate of Liberty |
