I checked the linkage this AM. Everything looks good. I took her out for a
spin around the neighborhood to see if it would work today. It did. It now
shifts smoothy between 4L, 4H, 2H and N. Which has me wondering what was
wrong yesterday???

I would be having a close inspection and clean the linkage up.

It still sounds like one of the shift rods isn't tracking right with the
shifter. Could just be a bent pin or something silly.
