Steering box removal
How difficult is it to get this thing out of a CJ7? I think I have to remove
the pitman arm....but at what point..where it connects the the tie rod or
the box? And what is there to removing it from the steering shaft?
Gotta rebuild this thing...leaking like crazy!!!!
Thanks!

Re: Steering box removal
Yep, you ought to just take the pitman arm off, you will need to anyway if
you are doing a rebuild. You sure you are up to the job? Probably ought to
just get the seal kit for the particular part of the box that is leaking,
and replace that alone. You take that whole thing apart, and you might be
there a week trying to get it working again. Or, go with a reman.

Re: Steering box removal
Hi Allen,
You will need a pitman arm puller:

lend it with a deposit.

using www.napaonline.com
http://tinyurl.com/vg2r
napaonline, part number NSP276534, PS gear box, $191.99
7181, major seals kit, $33.49
Keep in mind that if the surface is bad new seals will just last
a short time. If you have larger tires it might be worth getting
a more powerfull box. Not sure of what part that would be though.
