After my second cheap-o starter started acting up, I switched to MeanGreen.
Good thing I did, too, because my clutch linkage went out the very next
weekend and I had to start the Jeep while in second gear. About ten times.

After my second cheap-o starter started acting up, I switched to MeanGreen.
Good thing I did, too, because my clutch linkage went out the very next
weekend and I had to start the Jeep while in second gear. About ten times.

Good thing I did, too, because my clutch linkage went out the very next
weekend and I had to start the Jeep while in second gear. About ten times.

Re: starting problem
All you need to do is look close at the starter nose gear and the
flywheel teeth. If the starter isn't lining up, the gears will show
wear marks in the wrong places. Like the flywheel teeth will start to
round off or you will see bad marks in the bottom of the gear V shape
with maybe the odd mark on the front of the teeth.
I think there is a way to check for sure with a feeler gauge with the
front bottom inspection cover off. Bill might have those directions.

wear marks in the wrong places. Like the flywheel teeth will start to
