Power Steering High pressure hose
I just put a 304 (which had the power steering pump attached) into my 85 cj7
that originally had a 258. It appears that the power steering high pressure
hose will not fit into the pump on the 304. Is there a difference between
these pumps from a 304 and a 258? Or do I possibly have a pump from another
motor?

Re: Power Steering High pressure hose
You would want the pump for your Jeep, not the engine's one no matter
what steering setup it's for. Your CJ7 uses a Saganaw steering setup.

Re: Power Steering High pressure hose
Depending on year(s) one could be O-ring vs. flare fitting on the other.
The fitting on the back of the pump can be easily changed to match the gear
box.
