actually *checked* on the performance of a modern computer controlled
engine?

the puny W16 Veyron engine, putting out only 1000 hp, can barely propel the
rice burner to 253mph (407 kmh). So "un-american". Not that anybody can
afford it (ok, Earle H, where are you ?).
