Bill:
You really are a true believer, aren't you? Maybe all Bush needed was a
trip to the doctor. However, he never made that trip. Its really hard to
believe that you support Bush so strongly, yet know so little about him.
In reality, he represents everything you hate. In his own words, he
went into the guard to avoid Vietnam ("I was not prepared to shoot my
eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment. Nor was I
willing to go to Canada. So I chose to better myself by learning how to
fly airplanes." -- GWB, 1990). His father's connections got him to the
top of the line for the Air National Guard even though on his
qualification tests he scored 25%, the lowest possible passing grade on
the pilot aptitude portion. Then, while in the Guard he apparently blew
off a significant portion of his obligation (at least there are no
records to support his doing so), he got himself grounded, and then got
out early to attend Harvard.
You can try to change the subject to my military service, but that's not
going to change the fact that Bush lied when he said he flew for "many
years" when he only flew for 22 months. Its not going to change the
fact that Kerry volunteered to go to Vietnam while Bush explicitly asked
not to be sent there.
