Yup, they are just another 'failed' attempt to compensate for lack of
driver training.

I live just outside of San Diego, and most of the TJs sold here have the
Dual Top option. I should say that differently, when I have been to my local
stealership for some kind of unique parts, and have walked the lot while
waiting, most of the TJs that I see have the Dual Top option.
You will not find any ABS units with a D44 axle, and you can not order ABS
with a D44. So, if the D44 is part of the option package you are looking
for, give up on the ABS because you will not get it. The D44 is a much more
valuable optin than the ABS, so do not insist on ABS if you are thinking of
the D44. Take the D44 without the ABS, and never look back.
I don't see how ABS is going to help you if somebody runs into the back of
your Jeep. ABS might, and I stress MIGHT, help you avoid running into
somebody that is stopped in front of you, but only because you can still
steer while you are panicing. If you can manage to control the panic, then
you can still steer and perhaps miss the guy in front. My ABS in the Wife's
minivan caused my stopping distance to become so damn long that it actually
caused a rear end accident. I'll have to admit that crash avoidance that
particular day just wasn't in the cards, so the entire blame is not on the
brakes. but, if I didn't have ABS, then I would have had four tires that
were actually working to slow me down. With the ABS system on the minivan,
the rear brakes took a bye at the absolute worst possible moment. All I
could do was sit and watch as the metal folded.
