new distributor Q

Re: new distributor Q
This I understand. But I live in a rural area, and arranging for rides is a
painin the ^%$. I have another vehicle I use, so I can tinker with this at
me leisure.
I seem to correct a problem, just to be faced with another. I just can't
shake the feeling that this current problem is related somehow to something
I replaced.
Bill, what do you think of the distributor being off one spline? Possible?
Or impossible?
Thanks

Re: new distributor Q
Hi Dave,
The quick way to find out is to follow Mike's suggestion, pull
number one plug, seal hole with finger, and feel for compression stroke,
and stop cranking with balancer at top dead center, pull cap and rotor
should be pointed at number one mark on cap, or it's ignition wire.
In replacing the distributor, you did reattach the wire leading
from the coil.

Re: new distributor Q
You got the plug wires connected up properly and in the right order? It
can stil run and have a plug wire going to the wrong cylinder.
