going the stroker route laid out under 4.5L Low-buck simple stroker
which readfs as follows:

Jeep 4.2L 3.895" stroke crank
Jeep 4.2L 5.875" rods
Jeep 4.0L 3.875" standard bore pistons
9.7:1 CR
CompCams #68-231-4 206/214 degree camshaft
Ported HO 1.91"/1.50" cylinder head
Stock 0.051" head gasket
0.081" quench height
Ford 24lb/hr injectors with adjustable FPR or MAP adjuster for '87-'95
engines, Ford 24lb/hr injectors with stock 49psi FPR for '96 and later

Does it need to get up to 3500 rpm to top the torque or does it pick up
early with a flat top to the curve? I was under the impression the
stroker has a low rpm pull like the 4.2L has. They de-stroked the
engine when they made the 4.0.

That is Dino's site. He is the guru on the yahoo list. BTW, the CNC
dished Silvolites will get your CR down to low 9s so you can run pump
regular without ping. Otherwise plan on premium.

Nitrous. If your crank can't handle the extra hundred and fifty
horsepower and explodes, just unbolt the gasoline and nitrous oxide
injectors and no ones the wiser.
