Just thinking aloud here: I wonder if there might not be a useful "fuse"
effect at work here. If Mike finds stronger motor mounts and installs
them the next weakest link will break when he beats on his Jeep. The
next weakest link might not be so friendly.

That is one reason I haven't considered a solid mount. As it is I am
tearing my frame to shreds and having a mount that won't give or flex is
a good way to break something really expensive. A mount every couple
years isn't too bad.

Re: Killed another engine mount....
Didn't old-timey stock car builders install chain restraints on motor
mounts? Or am I making that part up?
