Re: Just as an FYI, I was looking for info on how to replace thelights in my instrument panel
Never saw one with a "slight" leak that didn't become one with a major
leak in a hurry <g>. Usually at the most inconvenient time and place -
carry a bottle of brake fluid with you.
A recent battle with gremlins reminded me that brake fluid leaking onto
the fuse box will do a real number on the plastic. It also promotes
corrosion (it's hygroscopic meaning it attracts/holds water) so it also
promotes corroded connections in and behind the fuse block. know it
stinks, but a thorough washing with WD-40 will save you a lot of nagging
problems later on - pull the top 2-3 rows of fuses and soak it well with
WD-40. If you have an air supply, it helps to blow it dry when you are
done. Those corroded connections can get hot enough to melt things - or
start a fire.
