One unbelievable compromise done to AMC's engineered Wrangler
design, was to change the rear end to a "C" clip axles. What were they

Say what you will about "AMC's designs", but I've owned two AMC CJ7s,
one AMC designed Chrysler YJ, and two Chrysler designed TJs. There is no
question that there are huge design improvements over AMC's YJ in the
development of the TJ.
