Re: gas tank sender and guage - question

I just installed a new 21-gallon tank and an Autometer fuel gauge. As long
as the resistance emtpy to full is the same, they'll work. You might want
to adjust the bend in the sender float arm so the gauge tracks properly at
1/4 1/2 and 3/4 full, the way mine came I had to adjust it a bit to get it
to track the way I wanted.

What part number autometer gage? What do you mean the same? How do I check
it?

Re: gas tank sender and guage - question

FWIW, there's an improved factory fuel/temp gauge kit that's a direct
replacement for the originals. I just put a set in my restoration project
'76 CJ5 and they worked perectly. Much better quality than the originals.
You have to disassemble the speedo assy, pull the old ones and snap in the
new ones with the supplied voltage regulator strip.

As for the fuel sender, you'll probably have to adj the arm on it a bit to
get correct readings. It's a trial and error thing but you can get it fairly
close.

Re: gas tank sender and guage - question

Autometer 2515 matches the stock resistance.
