I would think the original is better. That looks like a design
compromise on the aluminum cover.
The aftermarket one I bought matched my stock one exactly except for the
color, this one is black, the stock one was AMC green.

really? It looks like the original has a direct route for the oil to
take. The aluminum one seems to block the oil more. I guess the first
thing I need to do is figure out why I get oil in the air filter :-).

really? It looks like the original has a direct route for the oil to
take. The aluminum one seems to block the oil more. I guess the first
thing I need to do is figure out why I get oil in the air filter :-).
