True, strictly a rich burn condition. But, plugs are probably fouled.
Going to change them before I get rechecked today.

Re: Failed emissions on 83 CJ7. Any suggestions?
Just returned from retest and passed.
Aside from fixing the choke and cleaning the K&N filter, I changed oil,
plugs and dumped 24 OZ. of Isoprpyl Alcohol into the tank. Drove it hard
for about 15 minutes before getting it inspected. My CO levels dropped to
0.0 on both test.
Woo Hoo!!

Re: Failed emissions on 83 CJ7. Any suggestions?
ETOH sounds like a good idea - I would think that ethyl or methyl would be a
better choice - but does anybody know if there might be a problem with any
part of the fuel system. I remember hearing about issues with floats, seats,
etc on carbs when "ethanol" was popular a while back. I have also heard that
most of the new vehicles can handle ETOH - but have heard other rumors &
propaganda about NMT 10%.
