evaporation Cannister

Re: evaporation Cannister
Let me correct this. The line coming out of the back of the carb goes
into a T. One line off the T goes to the cannister. The other line
goes to another T. One line from this T goes to the PCV; the other line
goes into this thingy near the firewall. There are 4 lines into this
thingy (what is it? Is this the solenoid??). The pinch test does not
affect idle. I pulled the PCV valve out of the valve cover and it
appears to be sucking OK but I don't know how hard it should suck.

Re: evaporation Cannister
I found out what the thingy is. It's the deceleration valve.

Re: evaporation Cannister
Mike,
I'm thinking at this point I do not have a PCV issue. The PCV valve
rattles, there is no solenoid (T fitting in place), the "pinch test" on
the cannister passes, there is suction at the PCV valve. Assuming the
PCV system is fine, what am I looking at now? Is this a sign of
"blow-by"? Are my rings shot? What else can I check for? I do notice
that when I pull the PCV breather out, I get steam/smoke coming out of
the valve cover and it is blowing out hard.
