Cloth, definitely. When I'm offroading I just use one of those handy plastic
slip-covers that gather in the back to protect them. They wash up pretty
good too- but you don't want to do that too often otherwise they'll rot.

My old 88YJ had vinyl and I hated
sitting in them on a sunny day wearing shorts
ouch! then after awhile ya start swimming in them.
My new 01TJ has cloth, got caught in a downpour
twice with them and was surprised how quickly they dried
Cloth all the way...

my *** sticks... hate that... but I have the doors off.. it rained pretty
good last night and all I had to do was wipe off the seat and go..

longer short pants to avoid the back of my legs going raw when it is 90 and
my *** sticks... hate that... but I have the doors off.. it rained pretty
good last night and all I had to do was wipe off the seat and go..
