Re: dana 300 twin stick - question
so one site says front 2wd high is possible and the other says is not. is
that because todd (sierrajeep) is using the currie kit? and 7slotgrille is
using a home-made version?

Re: dana 300 twin stick - question
Two wheel low range is possible if you take the inner lock sliding
pin out from in-between the shift rods the forks sit on.

You have to modify the shift rods before you can get every possible
combination from the dana 300. just slapping on the twin sticks will not do
it all, you need to remove the "pills" inside the shift rod housing. I
assume one of them did not remove the pills.

Re: dana 300 twin stick - question
Dont think of it as 2wd/4wd any more - just remember:
Left stick = rear axle
Right stick = front axle
and for each stick:
Stick forward = lo
Stick center = neutral
Stick aft = high
Therefore,
2hi rear = left aft, right center
2hi front = left center, right aft
2lo rear = left forward, right center
2lo front = left center, right forward
4hi = left aft, right aft
4lo = left forward, right forward
I just did my twin stick two weekends ago. I didn't want to mess with
any 'pills' so I was willing to not have the full twin stick
capabilities. Imagine my surprise when I finished and discovered I
could get all 6 combinations mentioned above! But, my case has 192k
miles on it, the pills could be shot. But, something still (thankfully)
prevents getting one axle in high and one in low at the same time.
My kit also came with a decal. If you need to see it, there is a
similar one at http://www.bearcreeksurvey.com/NOSRepro.htm, patterns 010
and 013 show the proper 300 twin stick pattern.
