Re: Dana 18 oil change?

I don't know why folks think the t-cases that are hooked to the
transmissions share the oil.

They don't.

Same for the t-case has a high water vent. Jeep transmissions do 'not'
have a high water vent so can and do get filled with water easy.

Re: Dana 18 oil change?

Hi Mike,
The Borg Warner, T-90 and T-14, share oil with their Dana 18 or 20
transfers. Pencils pointing to common holes:
http://www.----------.com/dana18cj5b.jpg We must fill them both and from
then on only top off the transmission, as the transfer will always be at
the top of the fill plug. That may be also true for the Original Poster,
as his Borg Warner T-65 automatic may be bolted directly to the transfer
as it also takes ninety weight: http://www.jpoils.co.uk/agri_q8.php His
transfer is painted competition orange, identify it as an International
Harvester tractor or Scout. Remember, your transfer uses an adapter to
fit your transmission making it possible to have a seal.

Re: Dana 18 oil change?

You may see here that, there's no adapter used between the
transmission and transfer: http://www.----------.com/Dana18.jpg

Re: Dana 18 oil change?

Bill, I looked real close at the diagrams and see you are right for
those two combinations.

Most of the others are all separate and do not share oil.

Does the T14 or 90 still have a stupid button vent? If so, the 'both'
the tranny and T-case can easily get filled with water....
