I used to believe this, but the thirteen year old computer I have in my
thirteen year old Jeep has never left me stranded. I have not so fond
memories of replacing an ignition condenser more than once that
stubbornly refused to produce spark, usually in sub-zero weather in a
bad part of town. I think I would rather have been in the woods where
you could have started a fire.

13 year old _frames_ have been known to fail, all of a sudden. Maybe
you should just tow a spare vehicle if you're that worried about it.
