Computer resolution
Just an update on the delayed start problem with my '95 YJ. I just got a new computer installed and it solved the problem. Now the check engine light and fuel pump turn on right away when the key is turned to run, the jeep seems to have a bit more power, and the idle is a bit lower and more stable. It took a while but it sure is good to have it running well again. |
Re: Computer resolution
I am curious why you havent performed the nutter bypass on your computer,
rather than replace it? It is a simple bypass of a few wires on the ignition loop and the distributor, and you gain better fuel mileage and more power.... and the computer is not needed anymore.... nrs wrote: >Just an update on the delayed start problem with my '95 YJ. I'm stuck with a computer! It bothers me because on the off road trip where the computer went bad there was a '75 CJ5 with a lot of problems but nothing that could not be worked around. First it was hard to start, then it blew a radiator hose and then would not start unless pushed but it was able to keep going somehow. Mine was dead with the computer failure and there was no way to work around it. IMHO, computers should not be in off road vehicles. |

I have not so fond memories of replacing an ignition condenser more than once that stubbornly refused to produce spark, usually in sub-zero weather in a bad part of town. I think I would rather have been in the woods where you could have started a fire. Cheers, Earle -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
