Most Vette owners buy the cars because of it's image, not because they
really want to drive the cars like real sports cars, and automatics fit those kinds of folks better. It's actually kind of a shame, from everything I've read modern Corvettes are amazing cars, I doubt most of the owners have even a remote clue about what their cars are capable of. Although... I guess the same thing could be said of most Jeep owners, although obviously not the kind of Jeepers that hang out in this newsgroup!
