A/C Clutch problems
Anyone know a cheap source of a rebuild kit for the A/C clutch assy? Mine
is starting to rub when it's not engaged and when my Cherokee did this it
eventually caused enough heat to ---- out the bearing and cause the whole
shebang to lock up leaving me stranded. Maybe it was the other way around
too, the bearing went causing the pulley to angle a bit causing it to rub on
the clutch. Either way I don't want to be stuck with no way to bypass the
belt on that sucker.
What are some good (cheap) parts sources for that stuff? For my cherokee I
just closed the service valves to retain my 2 gold bars/pound R12 and
swapped out the pump with a junyard one. U-Pull-It had one for $15 so I
jumped on it. What other vehicles use the same model Sanden pump so it
would make it an easier junkyard find? No TJ's in the boneyard around here
it seems. There's a Mopar rebuild kit but it's like $400 at the
stealership.
Help?
