Yea...sometimes the higher price of a dealer oil change may be worth
it. If you have had good experience from the dealership service
department, stick with it. It will save you headaches and money later
on. But only if you can trust the dealer service.

My boss took his 2 year old Grand Cherokee to a "Jeep" Dealer
for service and oil change. Top notch mechanic added about 5 quarts
to the oil. Never changed filter and never drained old oil!!!!! Car
smoked every time it was started...........

Cool, a bash dealer service thread...
A dealer service technician chipped the ring gear on my three quarter ton
Ram Van, changing the axle housing. About halfway through Idaho (a real big
state) it started singing that damaged ring and pinion song. Luckily I made
it back to Redmond, WA, so the same dealer service technician could put a
new ring and pinion, and complete set of bearings in the axle. It all
started with a wet spot where the axle tube joins the differential housing.
It would have been wiser to ignore it.
