Re: Beware of Jiffy Lube
I got one of those 'Gator-Grip' sockets for Christmas a few years ago. The
manufacturer claims they will remove any nut or bolt.... no matter how
rounded it may be......
It sure is an interesting design....

Re: Beware of Jiffy Lube
I'm not surprised, glad it was exposed tho. We never went
back there after trying to get an oil change for a Lancia.
When the mechanic said, "Wot in the haills zat?", we just
knew we were in the wrong place.

Re: Beware of Jiffy Lube
There is a second video from 3 weeks later that said the offending parties
had been fired and there was a new sweeping corporate policy on fraud.
It also mentions that this is the third such scandal in three years at Jiffy
Lube
What I did not see is a follow up where indictments were handed down or
arrests were made.
It's bad enough that these type places overcharge and do un-necessary work
but to charge and not do it is another thing.

That does not suprise me. Last time I used a
jiffyscrew around here they put the oil drain
plug on so tight I had to have another mechanic
airhammer it out. On another cowerkers car they
simply didn't put any oil back in and let her
drive away.
Some may be good, but my opinion is if your
going to have work done by one of these shops
stay with your car and make them know your watching.
Reminds me of the Midas that wanted to replace the
ZJ's rear brakes because they were "leaking".
I know the difference in feel/smell between brake
fluid and motor oil. And they also wanted to weld
on the brake shoes to make them fit right.
I will never use one of these stores again. They just
don't hire good help.
