I drove for quite a while like that in my CJ7. I was very careful about
accelerating with the wheels turned hard, but other than that I run in 4x4 for weeks at a time in the winter. I don't expect damage.... Just make sure you don't lose the fluid. I think Jerry B said a WD40 cap will fit right on and a hose clamp holds it....
