Don't know much about engines do you?
The 'only' reason Chrysler would dump it is because it lasts too long.
Like the old slant 6, they wouldn't die either so Chrysler stopped
making them.
One of my 'old tired' 6's has 300K on it and still burns less that a
liter between oil changes.

Reminds me of a friend long ago,
who owned a Duster with a slant six.
He tried real hard to wreck that engine,
(He beat the ever livin crap outa it)
Because his DAD wouldn't let him swap
to a 8 cylnder unless the six quit.
The duster never did get that 8 banger. :-)
