almost stolen!

The other night about 4AM I heard my Jeep alarm going off. I jumped out of bed, ran
to the door, and saw some A*****E breaking into the front of the car... I ran out, so
did my wife, I yelled at him (he looked like a kinda punk kid) he started running; I
didn't have any shoes on, so my wife starts chasing him, I ran back in the house (a
whole 6 feet away) grabbed my shoes, grabbed the phone and called 911.

By this time I knew where the guy was headed - to the gas station down the alley.
Duh, it's fully lit: everything else is dark.
I told you he didn't look too bright.

I get there (it's only 250 feet away) and he's inside, but there's another jeep
parked there with someone in it.

Maybe a minute later, first one then another squad cars pull up, appraise the
situation, get the guy out of the jeep in front of the gas station, AND the guy who's
inside the gas station... only to find that that 2nd jeep is stolen, and there's no
gas in it, and the tank is locked.

So The police (eventually 5 squad cars, 10 officers) got the 3 guys, the other lady
got her jeep back (she may not even have known it was stolen) my jeep seems to be ok,
and all's well here in La La Land.

Pretty cool!

Reminds me of a high speed chase I saw on one of those cop shows (Worlds
Wildest Police Videos?)

Couple of teens stole a Jeep Cherokee. When the cops started chasing them they
remembered what kind of vehicle they were in, so they put in in four wheel
drive and did some high speed off-roading. There was no way the squad cars
could keep up with them.

Then they forgot what kind of vehicle they were in and tried to make a sharp
turn and rolled it...
