Matt, what is it with you bleeding heart liberals, not being able to
understand facts! Anywhere did the article state the car was going
faster than three miles an hour, when the bag exploded!

The libby allows wheel lockup in low range, that's not antilock IS
IT!
"Liberty's ABS is specifically calibrated to handle off-road situations:
In low range, the anti-lock brake system allows some wheel lock, such as
when descending steep gravel hills. On the road, its ABS reduces
skidding for improved control steering control, but allows some lockup
for shorter stopping distances."

Re: Air Bags
Perhaps, but "some" is not "always." The ABS will still modulate if engaged.
Kind of like pumping the brakes slower.

Re: Air Bags
As long as you bring up politics (I knew it wouldn't be long before you
did), what is it with you right-wing zealots, spinning the facts to fit your
agenda because you have to maintain the illusion that you are never wrong?
"The buck's rear legs were right at the center-mounted license plate, he
wrapped over the hood, glanced off the driver's side of the car taking the
mirror with him. Both airbags deployed. Peak change in velocity was 2.63mph,
but it showed 1.54 at the first data-point. "
Nowhere did the article state the car was going LESS than three miles per
hour. The figure you are citing is the change in velocity (in this case,
deceleration), not vehicle speed. The article doesn't state the vehicle
speed of this car at collision, but anyone with eyes can tell he was going
WAY more than 3mph by looking at the damage.
Have you ever seen a car that hit a deer? At three miles an hour, you
think a deer would wrap over the hood, glance off the driver's side, and
take out the mirror? http://mfes.com/gif/cdr_sunfire_deer.jpg Geez, the deer
can leisurely walk out of the way at that speed. Are you so bad a driver
that if you were driving three miles per hour, you couldn't move to avoid
hitting a deer? Sheesh.
