Re: 87 YJ magically turned into a '92 XJ
I think I asked this before, but: if I do the taurus fan swap, would
that eliminate a certain amount of fan location problems? I ask this because I have a taurus in the driveway that's on its way out. Also, which does it match up with, the 2.5L or 4.0L? Since I have one of each (two 4.0s, in the XJ and ZJ, actually but the ZJ is stayin' stock) it's a win-win for me. Thanks guys On Jan 5, 4:25 pm, "Earle Horton" <e...@vascongado.usa> wrote: > Many people do both, which gives more angle for less displacement of > components. Re: 87 YJ magically turned into a '92 XJ
the 4.0 has an electric auxiliary fan, but I believe the Taurus swap is
to replace the belt-driven fan with an electric, as it apparently bolts perfectly onto the radiator, using existing holes even. You mean the air tube-into-heater vent mod? Yeah, I agree, I'd be too worried about clogging to ever do it - I just thought it looked cool and was a novel approach. Re: 87 YJ magically turned into a '92 XJ
The fan swap will eliminate any worries, but so does raising the body of
the Jeep. The body mounts are all going up an inch, about the same as the fan. I haven't seen or heard of many that do both the body lift and engine mount lift having issues. The one I have seen and helped with worked easily. It was actually a 1.5" body lift though, we took a 3" lift out of one YJ and I cut each mount in half on my miter box for use on two of them. Both Jeepers used to post here and still have their YJ's. Ok I just read that again, just what Jeep engine are you doing a lift on? I am confused.....
