4.0 my YJ
I've got an 89 YJ with the 2.5L. It's got 94k original miles and runs well.
I also have an 89 XJ with the 4.0. 138K miles runs well. Both have good
5spds with good clutches and good NP231's.
Is it possible to swap the 4.0 into the wrangler? Will the harnesses
interchange? How difficult is this? Can I loose the EFI on the 4.0 and
install a carb? Am I crazy?
Thanks..
Carl

Re: 4.0 my YJ
Hi Carl,
You come closer to doing that than most. It is good you have the
transmission and transfer you want to swap, as a unit, because the four
banger's transmission to transfer also has a different spline count. And
if you went with a carburetor you wouldn't have to worry about finding
the differences in harnesses for the computer, besides I think that's
still the frog injection, a good thing to lose. How if Colorado (?) is
SMOG leniniant or you can find someone that'll SMOG a lawn mower, than
go for.
