The transmission is a true 5 speed, AND also has a alternate 2nd gear.
Gear ratio:1
1st 3.00
2nd (upshift) 1.67
2nd (kickdown) 1.50
3rd 1.00
4th 0.75
5th 0.67
Reverse 3.00
5th gear is a second overdrive, for gas saving and quieter highway driving.
The alternate second gear help to smooth high-speed downshifts an maintain a
higher road speed. Makes towing easier.

overdrive ratios you'd expect a deeper set of axle ratios
than 3.73 even, unless the top two are strictly to keep the
EPA mileage ***** off their rear end.
