It works with the remote. My question is should the 'key' actuate the
locking and unlocking of all the doors/hatch or just the driver's door?

Yes, that answers my question. I have had 6 vehicles with electric locks,
this is the first one that I have noticed won't unlock all the doors via the
key.
But if it is not supposed to work then I won't worry about it although it
will make it a bit more difficult to open the door when you have a lady
riding with you.
