1993 YJ transfer case question
I may finally have a line on a YJ in my area. It's a 93 YJ 4.0 manual
transmission. Anyway, the thing has a cracked transfer case from an errant
rock (or errant driver). Before I drive 3 hours to look at this thing, I'd
like to get an idea from the local salvage yards as to what a replacement
t-case will cost. My question is, did this year YJ only come with one model
t-case, or are there a few to choose from? The guy doesn't know which one it
has, but if there is an easy way for a novice to identify which one it is, I
could have hm take a look at it for me. Thanks for the help.

Re: 1993 YJ transfer case question
Thanks Bill. This brings up another question. If I get an SYE kit right
away, can I use any NP231, or does it have to be out of a Wrangler? I know
these were used in some Dodge and Chevy applications as well, and I was
wondering if any of those would work as well.
Thanks again.

Re: 1993 YJ transfer case question
Hi Chris,
I believe you're stuck with NP 231 transfers that fit your AX-15
there's even a difference between that other Japanese transmissions:
http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np231.htm Why don't you go back
another couple of years get a Jeep with a Real transmission and
transfer, and rear end?
