Wiper Malfunction (stuck on intermittent)
I recently purchased a 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited. For some reason, the wipers have gotten stuck in a slow intermittent mode (like one wipe every 10 seconds - probably the lowest setting). I cannot turn them off. I also cannot turn them on or speed them up. Operating the switch has no effect. Do I need to replace the switch or is there some kind of controller somewhere else that is the culprit?

I don't have the book for that vehicle so I will take a guess. The rod that connects the wiper control to the switch that's in the column is either broken or worn to the point that it will not turn the switch.

In my case, the problem existed with the operator. I was mistaking the dash light dimmer control on the left hand control. The wiper control is actually on the right hand control. Once I operated that switch I was able to turn them off and verify that the wipers operated normally. Thanks for thinking about this and offering your suggestions. But I'm afraid I'm a
