Canada Tire Choices

Hey everyone I am new to the forum but not new to jeeps. I have always loved them but only recently purchased my new JKU but have been stuck on a nice tire to fit my 18 inch rim. I love the stock rim but I am looking to possibly get a meaty tire to fit onto them going up to a 265 at max. I would like to keep it in the 32/33 inch range and not any more really since the truck is my weekend warrior but daily commuter 5 days a week.

Just wondering if anyone has found any tire combinations that fit the 18 inch rim well on a stock suspension. I am planning to lift the truck in the near future but I want to get a little out of the stock suspension for the time being since I wont be doing any aggressive trail riding. Mainly hitting the local trail and fields [come winter].

I am looking to spend around 800 at the current moment possibly up that a little more should I sell the soft top. [more of a hard top or no top kind of guy]

Any opinions and comments are obviously welcome, I am more then willing to even swap the tire wheel combo should it cost less then 4 new tires for the 18inch rim I would have no problem purchasing them.

Help me out!!! Cant make up my mind at all!!! I am running in circles and always seem to do so when it comes to this.

Having run most of the majors brands on almost every North American 4X4 automakers vehicle, I'd recommend Goodyear Wrangler Dura Tracs. Since your going to use the same tire all year round, they are agressive enough for off roading (look it too!), quiet on the highway and sipped for winter driving, giving good control (as much as anybody is ever in any control) in the icy winter conditions (as opposed to deep snow - which they chew through effortlessly) that we mostly get in Southwestern Ontario.

Yea from the look of it I will be going for a set of dura tracs since the tread is aggressive yet very useful. My only concern is that would they fit a stock jeep. I am sure that they don't make that tire in a 255/70/18 I do want to go bigger but I don't want rubbing to be a big issue. Was looking at possibly getting a set of 265/70/18 but was slightly unsure of rubbing or if they make that size

So far running Goodyear Territory's (31x10.5R15) have been great in every condition especially snow. They can be found only at Canadian Tire but they tend to go on sale quite often. They are almost identical to Duratrac's... Something to maybe look into!

Ran 35" Duratracs for a year and loved them. Solid tire, winter rated and good in all year round conditions. I would run Territories but they don't make them in 35".0

I also suggest to have a look at Kelly TSLs. almost identical to duratracs, a lot less, and are made by goodyear.
