Re: screen behind the grill
That looks real good JKS, I used some flat aluminum diamond mesh overlaid with nylon window screen - for the bugs and connected in the corners with those black expanding rivets. I think it's a must do.

Re: screen behind the grill
For those of use less imaginative, a company called "fia" sells (got mine through Canadian Tire) a mesh screen that mounts over top the grill opening with snaps (mounted with self-sticking adhesive, no drilling required). Pops right off to clean. Check out my albumn to see it in place.

This bug guard you picked up at Cdn Tire do you by any chance have the ctc number for it, as I have been after them for a while now and they say they don't carry it anymore. Do u also have the winter front or just the screen for summer?

Re: screen behind the grill
i guess i waited too long to do this mod. just checked my rad this morning and there is a dent the size of a dime in the fins. :( Likely from a stone...guess it's never too late...time to put in a guard.

Mr White
The one I have is only a summer screen. Unfortunately I had one new thought today and because every brain cell I own is full to capacity I had to displace one item and it was the Ctc # for the bug screen! lol I'll be into town sometime in the next couple of days, so I'll pop by Cdn Tire and see if the parts guy (Skippy, who never gets anything right the first time he orders it!) can find a number on his parts PC.

Got this expanded aluminum at home depot. Rain gutter protectors, $10.00 for 6 pieces 6"x36". Cut it down to size and used some stainless wire to attach it. Have had it on for almost 2 years now with no complaints.
