Just filled up my JKU sport today. It took 74L to go 550km, mixed city and hwy driving. Not bad, and its noticeably better when the weather warms up.

Idling kills. As said before 30 seconds is good, max a couple of minutes. Being in the right gear helps, no od in the city should net a couple benefits.

My 2012 wrangler unlimited sahara's last run was 455kms on 66 litres, so i think that is around 14.5 l/100 kms all city driving loaded with 100 lbs of equipment.

Good luck and play around with your driving style and gear choice and let us know if any improvements occur!

Take care

I've heard a cold air intake and a programmer will help. I haven't decided which or whether both are needed. About $300 for each.

The Programmer will definitely help, I currently average around 13-14L/100klm with 35's mixed city/hwy...
The general consensus on the CAI is they don't make any difference and make the engine more susceptible to taking in water.. On the other hand a good snorkel will force more air in and protect the engine while going through deep water...

I agree, by the way, what government moron decided to change the entire format with metric, miles per gallon should have been converted to kilometers per litre. It would make so much more sense. Government cranial rectal inversion at its finest.

Regards

I just drove a 2012 Sahara 4 dr on the weekend. Pretty peppy compared to my 2011 Sport. Gas mileage was pretty close to mine though. [looking at the l/km/mpg gauge.

What are you guys with 2012 2 dr models getting with your JK's and are you happy with the power upgrade?
Seems the new motor has more ***** [about 80 hp] and they are supposed to be better gas mileage.
Would be interesting to know.

I've got about 15,000 km so far on my 2012 Sahara Unlimited (3.73)
A trip to Ottawa last weekend, city driving during the week and up to the cottage ( Mont-Tremblant this past week-end ) The cpu read 11.9 / 100km , gettting about 550 km per tank. Mixed in a little 4x4 this past week-end but only about an hour of trail exploring.
