FYI rubicons have 4:10's.

On a side note my rubi that had no lift and 35's got better gas mileage then my wife's bone stock Sahara.
Sahara with tow package got 4:10's in 2007 and 08

They got them in 07 and not in 08. I know this because I owned two 08 saharas. Both with tow package and 3:73's.

I was just stating that the rubi came with 4:10's not what the post before me stated.

I have a 2011 Sahara Unlimited with 3.73, 6-speed. I drive ~ 99% city. I am getting 15-16 liters per 100 km. So the mileage that you reported is very low. And you mentioned that your rubi has better mileage than the sahara - interesting.

My suggestion is that change your morning idle from 15 minutes to 30 seconds. Put on the coats and gloves. Check the mileage again in the next fill up.

cold idling is apparently bad for modern engines, it will warm up quicker being driven

Definitely a cold weather issue.. I get 13.1-13.8 l/100klm (17-18mpg) mixed with my 08 Sahara with 3.73 A/T running OD off, 3.5" lift, 35" Pitbulls, and Superchips programer. The programer will make a big difference and allow you to run premium gas properly. I cancelled my 12 Ruby order because I like the way the programer works.. I test drove a 12 and was happy to get back in my 08.. However, I do like the new 5sppd A/T trany..

Some of us are still old enough to remember MPG and think that way. I still convert L/100kms to MPG (UK) cause that's what I'm used to. You can have your L/100kms but not this CAT!

Not all Rubi's have 4:10's, that would be incorrect! When I order mine (6spd) I could get it with 3:73's (default was 4:10's) but the Auto comes standard with the 3:73's unless you specifically order it with 4:10's.

I'm getting 21 MPG (UK) on my JKUR with 4:10's and hope to get better when it's broken in a little more. So, what's that in L/100kms? 12 or so?

Replies here indicate that non of the ratios are firm and you can pretty well get what you want in many of the Jeep models.
I too am old enough to still use mpg over km/l.
Most of the new Jeeps have both available in the readouts and you are able to jump back and forth with a button.
My 2011 Sport only has 6500kms on it and I can feel it starting to loosen up and getting better gas mileage as it does. As I mentioned in another reply that I have changed all fluids to Synthetic and I believe that is letting it run smoother.

21mpg is about 13.5 l/100km

That's brutal, I get around 12L/100 Km mixed driving with winter tires on my 2011 Sport; I have the 3:21 diff and 6 speed manual and am ereasonable on the go pedal most of the time.

So it improves after break in? That's something to look forward too. Our last vehicles, ( 2010 Tacoma/ 2006 Corolla ) got worst! I've never gotten what the Manufacturer sticker says, it's always 5+ MPG less in reality. But we live in the real world don't we? Hills and wind!
The display is switchable but it reads MPG (US) and distance to empty is in Miles. Too bad it wasn't MPG ( UK ) for us here in Canada.
